Watching Your Own Funeral
Watching Your Own Funeral is a short pixel walking simulator inspired by those films where someone’s mind fights to claw its way out of a coma. This game traps you in the quiet horror of slipping consciousness
You’ve been mistakenly declared dead.
Now you're stuck—somewhere between consciousness and oblivion—watching your own funeral unfold in real time.
You can see your body. You can hear the eulogies. You know the burial is coming.
To wake up, you'll need to regain lucidity before they seal the casket. But it's not that simple.
Exit left when things are the same, go right when they aren't. However, some moments feel wrong. Some are trying to trap you. Some might lead you back. There is a twin who lies. And a rule you’ll wish you understood sooner.
Escape depends on how well you can recognize what doesn’t belong— and how long you can keep it together.
RULES:
Pay attention to what changes after each choice (each time you wrap around—i.e., exit left or right). If the prompt is the same as the previous one, go left; if it’s different, go right.
There are exceptions and contradictions to this rule, but it should help get you started.
For example:
- You start the game and the text says “exit left” — so exit left to gain lucidity.
- After wrapping around, the text now says “exit right” — that’s different from the last screen, so go right this time.
- If the next screen also says “exit right” — that’s the same as before, so now you’d exit left.

I'm getting the highscore sooner or later. I'll be back.
I have to agree with Minus on that it is a bit slow, also i dont ever really make it far but maybe im just struggeling with the rules. Definetly a nice idea either way.
it's definetely a nice concept, but i find it a bit slow.
I really like the concept, but I'm quite unclear on the rules. I can't seem to gain much lucidity. Nice art style and music :3
Thanks, @Ems! The main rule is to pay attention to what changes after each choice (each time you wrap around—i.e., exit left or right). If the prompt is the same as the previous one, go left; if it’s different, go right.
There are exceptions to this rule, but it should help get you started.

Again, there are contradictions, but this basic logic should point you in the right direction.
Let me know if you have any questions when you give it another go. Thanks again!
